Floating Chair
Floating Chair develops a tree-mounted platform system using friction-based connections that attach to tree trunks without penetrating bark or requiring tools for installation. The design accommodates varying tree diameters (tested range: 3× size variation), supports up to 75kg maximum load, and employs carved joint geometries enabling 30-degree angular adjustments. Through iterative prototyping, the project refined wooden member configurations to achieve structural balance through friction and wedging principles rather than mechanical fasteners.
