Deployable Pavillion

Bamboo Deployable Pavilion develops a tensile structural system using bamboo members connected through 3D-printed joints, enabling expansion/contraction for transport and assembly. Inspired by Frei Otto's Munich Olympic Stadium (1972)—which pioneered tensile structures using steel cables and acrylic sheets—the project adapts these principles to bamboo construction. The research addresses explicitly deployability: transforming permanent cable-net configurations into expandable systems that can be easily stored, transported, and erected on-site.
